Although the Brimfield
Police Department is very proactive in criminal enforcement, we also
offer a variety of community oriented programs for the residents of
Brimfield. We have formed a strong bond with our community, as
evident with the following programs:
Senior Check
Program
The Brimfield Police
Department offers a well-being check to all of our senior residents.
We currently check on over 100 of our senior residents. Officers
call or visit these residents on a monthly basis. If you are a
senior resident or know someone who is, and would like to be visited
by our officers, please call the department at 330-673-7716.
Vacation House
Check Program
Are you going on
vacation? Do you have to leave home for a few days or more for any
reason? Call our department and request a vacation house check. We
will check your residence a minimum of one time per day, when call
volume permits. We check
doors, windows and look for anything suspicious. Call the department
at 300-673-7716 for details.
Read-with-a-Cop
The Brimfield Police
Department has formed a partnership with the Brimfield Library for
this program. Every Tuesday at 10:00am, officers read to area
children. Join us for a story and then a craft immediately following
story time.
New Resident
Welcome
Officers from our
department deliver welcome bags to all new residents. The bags
contain police information, along with coupons and other information
from area businesses.
Fill-a-Cruiser
Two times per year the
Brimfield Police Department conducts our now famous Fill-a-Cruiser
program. We park a police vehicle, along with some officers, at the
Speedway fuel station or at the Wal-Mart. Residents and visitors
fill the cruiser with toys, clothing and non-perishable food items.
All donated items are given to the Brimfield Community Food Cupboard
to assist those in need.
DARE dinner with
Santa
Every year our officers
join Santa and Mrs. Claus and numerous residents and children for
dinner with Santa. This program benefits “Shop-with-a-Cop”. Join us
at the Palace in the Brimfield Plaza.
Shop-with-a-Cop
This program is designed
for elementary students. Every year, in December, officers and
volunteers take approximately 35 children to a local store for a
little Christmas shopping. Each child gets to spend $100.00. After
the shopping spree we all go for lunch and then a very big gift
wrapping session.
Community Forum
Program
The Forum Program is a
great tool for public information. Officers present current
law-enforcement information to the public in a town meeting setting.
Our past topics have been Methamphetamine Labs, Identity Theft and
Disaster Preparedness. Future topics will include Sexual offender
laws and drug awareness.
