Summer Day Camp

 

Program will be offered for eight weeks during the summer on Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for children from 6 to 12 years old.

 

Registration: Maximum number will be 20 campers per week due to bus limits. All payments are due in full the Monday before the start of camp week. Campers are accepted on a first come and first serve basis

 

Cost of program: $90 per child per week and $80 per week for each additional child from the same family. There is also a $10 registration fee per child for the first week of attendance in day camp.

 

Refunds: Refunds are available per week if handled prior to the Monday before the week of day camp, where an 80% refund will be given. No refunds are available the week before or the week of camp. If for some unforeseen reason Brimfield Township Parks & Recreation Department would cancel camp, it will be 100% refunded.

Food: Campers are to provide a labeled, packed lunch each day including drink and a refillable water bottle. Water will be available throughout the day. Morning and afternoon snack will be provided.

Place: Program will run from Lion’s Community Park on Edson Rd. Monday through Thursday and from Kelso House on Fridays (pending permission from Kelso) allowing the campers to walk to the Brimfield Library as part of the weekly program. Program will run from Kelso House the two weeks of August due to the temperature in the pavilion at Lion’s Park. Pending approval from Kelso House Board.

Transportation: The campers will remain at the drop-off location on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays the campers will be dropped off at Kelso House in the morning, walk to the Brimfield Library & the Town Center Park, walk back to Kelso House for pick up by Parta for field trip, returned to Kelso House by Parta after the field trip and picked up by parents at the end of the day at Kelso House.

Dress: Campers should dress for the weather outdoors wearing play clothes and tennis shoes. No sandals or flip flops. Each camper will also need to provide large towel for lunch break, and sunscreen or insect repellent if desired. A book-bag or backpack is suggested for belongings.

Staff: There will always be at least two adults with campers at all times, more on field trip days. The staff will be able to contact the Parks & Recreation Department, or any other necessary official at any time by phone. They are also trained in First Aid, CPR and have passed a background check.

 

Typical Schedule Monday through Thursday:

7:30 to 9:00               Individual games, puzzles, books, playground, crafts as people arrive on their own schedules – drop off at Lion’s Park
